time - walk a billion - raise a million

good morning and thanks for opening our blog,

you’re one of just over 1200 that receive it weekly, and one of over 600 a week that regularly open it, which i learnt this week is a good rate, so, not that i’m competitive in the slightest, but thank you, i know how important your time is.

and here is the bit i love about writing this blog.

before i opened my laptop i didn’t have a scooby doo what i was going to write about today, not one iota, but writing the word time has lit the blue touch paper.

time.

the amount we give to things, along with energy, often reveals what shapes us all, in our relationships, work, hobbies, etc.

if we don’t dedicate enough time to nurturing our relationships with friends and family, this is often reflected in the strength of these relationships, and the same goes for our physical health, and in fact our mental health, and i find it really interesting how as humans, sometimes even armed with knowledge that we should or shouldn’t do something, we just do or don’t do it anyway, often to the detriment of our wellbeing, because we don’t have enough time.

i haven’t got time to do what i know i really should do, "i’m really busy", that saying is the scourge of todays society in my opinion, and often worn as a badge of honour, i bet we all have someone we know who always tells you how busy they are, normally within two minutes of speaking to you?

i have one regular business meeting where it’s almost like a game of top trumps on how busy you are, and i childishly amuse myself by watching the game players slam down their levels of busyness like jamaican domino players, who if you haven’t had the pleasure of watching in real life, it really is worth a google, i love the passion.

so here’s an idea.

if you think about that one thing that you know you should put five minutes into doing, but consistently don’t, make a pact with yourself to do it, today, and see how good it feels to take off your to do list, because i know you’re not too busy, you’re just procrastinating, and i do it too, so lets do it together, all 600 of us,

600 x 5 minutes = 50 hours

50 hours of amazingness, which will make us all feel a little more smiley, and the world will be 50 hours of goodness, better off.

so drop me a line telling me if you’ve done it, i love reading your messages that i get weekly, so thanks in advance.

in other news, this week we at long last launched our three year relationship with the pegasus ultra marathon family, and i think the wholesomeness of this relationship, with a connecting of communities, is going to have amazing outcomes, and already we have four people that bigmoose have referred to our therapists, and who have graduated, and have now signed up to do a pegasus ultra marathon, which i find so rewarding that they are in such a great headspace, cool huh?

so if you’re feeling like you need a 2023 challenge, and just need convincing, message me, and i’ll help you rationally calculate whether you can do it, and convince you that you’re ready, and to celebrate the joining of teams, pegasus are offering 10% off any of their events in 2023 - simply use the code - PEGAMOOSE10 in the next five days, time is passing, so book now to receive the discount upon checkout.

also rhys and cerys have come up with a ‘pay it forward’ plan, which just shows the mindset of this team, and here is an excerpt from their mail shot.

did you also see our pay it forward initiative?

times have been crappy for most people over the last couple of years and we'd never want a runner to put themselves in financial difficulty to run one of our events. if you or someone you know would benefit from having a free place at one of our events for 2023 then get in touch.

we've launched a campaign called 'pay it forward' and it's an initiative to help people participate in events they may not be able to afford. can you help? hell yeah you can, if you'd like to donate a place to the pegasus pot then please get in touch and we can signpost you in the right direction. alternatively, if you are struggling financially and would benefit from having a free place at one of our 2023 events then get in touch.

our events are meant as a form of escapism and we will always do our best to help!

so that’s our collaboration with the pegasus family, including baby nye, and i am really excited to watch things grow in time, watch this space.

so to finish on today, i wanted to share with you an idea we have come up with to end the year, and hopefully get to our fundraising target of £1 million pounds.

walk a billion, raise a million.

the plan is to get as many people as possible to ‘donate’ their steps to bigmoose, and if they can encourage their friends, family, and coworkers to join in, we can walk/run a billion steps (1000 million) and hopefully get more interest in bigmoose and our fundraising efforts, like a positive domino effect.

you commit to contact us with your steps you do naturally, from november 1st to december 31st, you if possible ask your friends to donate too, and the we add them up as we go, and the beauty of it is, people can join at any time, and just log whatever steps they have done from november 1st, really simple, and you become part of the walk a billion, raise a million community, and hopefully it ignites the last push to reach our financial target too.

wanna play?

message me “i’m in” and we’ll add you to the team, and if you wanna get friends involved come up with your own team name, let’s have some fun.

(this is also a great way to encourage people to be more active in these winter months, there’s a method in our madness)

so the bins are done, the coffee has been drunk, i've done a zoom call, wow i’m busy, now let's take some action, thanks for reading.

blue skies,

jeff
